Report: Chiefs release veteran OLB Tamba Hali

Tamba Hali Chiefs

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly releasing veteran outside linebacker Tamba Hali.

Hali was drafted 20th overall by the Chiefs in 2006 and played in 177 total games with Kansas City.

Though, at 34-years-old and dealing with knee injuries, it was not too surprising to see the Chiefs part ways with him. The five-time Pro-Bowler played limited snaps in only five games for the Chiefs in 2017. His release frees up close to $7.7 million in salary cap space.

Over his 12-year career with the Chiefs, Hali recorded 588 total tackles, 89.5 sacks, 33 forced fumbles, two interceptions and two touchdowns.

It will be interesting to see if Hali drums up any interest as a free agent.
