Report: Browns block OC interviews for Freddie Kitchens

As the Cleveland Browns conduct the search for their next head coach, the front office is doing everything it can to keep offensive coordinator and head coaching candidate Freddie Kitchens with the organization.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Kitchens has received several interview requests for open offensive coordinator jobs across the NFL. However, Cleveland is currently rejecting those requests in case it hires a new head coach who wants to keep Kitchens.

Kitchens, who is under contract with the Browns, is expected to receive an interview for the head coaching spot early next week. Even if he doesn’t land the job, it’s clear he is valued highly by the front office.

If Kitchens isn’t retained by a new coach, he will certainly be one of the most-coveted coordinators available this offseason.
