The Oakland Athletics are looking for more pitching help as they enter the stretch run of the regular season.

According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, Oakland has signed former All-Star starting pitcher Matt Harvey to a minor league deal.

Harvey, 30, was released by the division-rival Los Angeles Angels after a disappointing stint that saw him post a 3-5 record with a 7.09 ERA and 1.54 WHIP in 12 starts earlier this season. The former All-Star had signed a one-year, $11 million off-season deal with Los Angeles.

This move comes on the heels of Oakland adding fellow starting pitchers Homer Bailey and Tanner Roark prior to the July 31 trade deadline.

The A’s are currently 68-52 and two games out of the final wild card spot in the American League. Whether Harvey will be able to help remains to be seen.
