Wow, big events must happen in pairs, especially for Ravens running back Ray Rice. Just one day after the grand jury indicted Rice on an aggravated assault charge, due to his February 15th arrest for domestic violence against his fiancée, Janay Palmer, he celebrates by marrying her.
Well, isn’t this romantic, and just a slight coincidence? The first thought that comes to my mind, at least according to TV court shows is, you can’t testify against your spouse. So, Rice knowing he is in quite the bind, pulls out the ring, pops the question, then high tails it to a courtroom ceremony.
Or perhaps it has nothing to do at all with his indictment, maybe this was the day her swollen face and bruises finally all returned to normal, so the perfect wedding pictures could be taken. I’ll bet she was a real knockout.
I also wonder if they stated the traditional wedding vows, or did they go something like this: “Ray, do you take Janay to love and to punch, and do you promise when she’s unconscious to always carefully and gently drag her out of the elevator?” “I do.”
RB Ray Rice got married Friday night to Janay Palmer. Ceremony had been planned for couple of weeks. Got indicted Thursday, married Friday.

The shotgun wedding is certainly controversial as fans would agree:
Do you think Ray Rice served punch at the wedding reception?

Ray Rice married his fiancé on Friday. He finished the evening by dragging his wife over the threshold.
