President Barack Obama spoke at a Labor Day rally Monday in Boston where he claimed New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is a classic example as to why the United States needs unions.
Obama: Even Tom Brady is glad he belongs to a union. They had his back. And if Brady needs a union – we definitely need unions.

Brady could certainly attest to the Obama’s statement because the NFL Players Association was key in fighting for his four-game suspension to be overturned in federal court.
Last week, Judge Richard M. Berman ruled against the NFL when he vacated Brady’s suspension that commissioner Roger Goodell initially served upon the quarterback for his alleged role in “Deflategate.”
In this particular case, having the support of a powerful union definitely paid off for Brady. And, how proud Brady must have been to be the topic of one of the President’s speeches.
