Poll: Americans respect Eli Manning more than Tom Brady

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is loved by many despite allegations that he had a hand in the Deflategate scandal.

However, the NFL’s golden boy has slipped down the food chain when it comes to being a respected athlete. According to a poll conducted by Survey Monkey (h/t Will Brinson of CBS Sports), New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is more respected than Brady.

Interestingly enough, both of Brady’s Super Bowl losses have come at the hands of Manning and the Giants.

Throwing respect out the window, Brady is the No. 1 athlete that anyone would want to trade lives with. That comes with little surprise considering he is married to a millionaire super model who actually earns more than Brady.

Plus, he has the mansions, the cute kids, the adorable dog and he is a healthy freak of nature at the age of 39.

The poll did conclude that Brady was the second-most talented athlete, behind only LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Oddly enough, he was found to be the fourth-most overpaid athlete.

Considering Brady is set to be the 18th highest-paid quarterback in the NFL this year, that makes little sense.

All said, it does not appear that his alleged involvement in Deflategate has tarnished Brady’s reputation among fans.

As for the well-respected Manning, he will meet up with Brady when the Giants and Patriots face each other in the fourth game of the preseason.

The two quarterbacks will not meet again unless they square off in the Super Bowl for a third time.
