The Pittsburgh Penguins will retire forward Jaromir Jagr’s No. 68 jersey before their Feb. 18 game against the Los Angeles Kings.
Jagr, 51, played his first 11 NHL seasons with the Penguins (1990-2001), winning two Stanley Cups (1991, 1992) and the 1998-99 Hart Memorial Trophy.
Pittsburgh’s 1990 first-round draft pick (fifth overall) led the league in points five times and even-strength goals three times while skating for the Penguins.
Jagr tallied 1,079 points (439 goals, 640 assists) in 806 regular-season games and 147 points (65 goals, 82 assists) in 140 playoff games with Pittsburgh.
A 10-time All-Star, Jagr played in the NHL until he was 45. He finished with 1,921 points (766 goals, 1,155 assists) in 1,733 games across 24 seasons with the Penguins, Capitals, Rangers, Flyers, Stars, Bruins, Devils, Panthers and Flames.
He ranks No. 2 in NHL history in points behind Wayne Gretzky (2,857) and is No. 4 in goals and games and No. 5 in assists.
