The Panthers have been using a lot of past tense verbiage when discussing the future of their 35 year-old receiver, Steve Smith. He isn’t taking too kindly to it either. Whether Smith gets a “Dear John” letter stating “It’s not you.. It’s me”, or the Panthers start referring to him in present or future tense remains to be seen.
