Orlando City SC signed defender Alex Freeman through the 2025 season with a club option for 2026.

The 17-year-old Florida native is the 12th Homegrown Player in franchise history and the first to sign in 2022.

“Alex is an exciting young player for us and another important example of hard work and dedication producing results,” Orlando City general manager Luiz Muzzi said in a news release issued Tuesday. “Having him in the first team group for training on a regular basis and the opportunity to get consistent minutes in MLS Next Pro should create a great environment for him to develop his game even further than he already has.”

Freeman made 30 appearances (28 starts) for the Orlando City Academy’s Under-17 squad last season, tallying eight goals and 15 assists en route to winning the MLS Next Cup U17 championship.
