The Baltimore Orioles on Saturday signed pitcher Jordan Lyles to a one-year contract with a club option for 2023.

The deal is worth $5.5 million, with a $500,000 signing bonus, MLB.com reported.

Lyles, a 31-year-old right-hander entering his 12th season, appeared in 32 games for the Texas Rangers last season, including a career-high 30 starts. He finished 10-13 with a 5.15 ERA in 180 innings, the sixth-highest total in the American League. He struck out 146 and walked 56.

Lyles went a career-best 12-8 in 2019, with a 4.15 ERA, in a season split between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Milwaukee Brewers. He has a career record of 54-79 with two saves and a 5.21 ERA in 289 games, including 182 starts.
