Oakland Athletics center fielder Ramon Laureano was placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained right hip.

Laureano has missed four games with the injury and manager Bob Melvin said there is no timetable for his return. The move was retroactive to Friday.

“Until he can run at a decent clip then this one’s just kind of an unknown,” Melvin told reporters.

Laureano, 26, is batting .257 with 11 home runs, eight doubles, two triples and 22 RBIs in 48 games for Oakland in his fourth Major League Baseball season. Defensively he is also second among all center fielders in putouts (129), just one behind the Baltimore Orioles’ Cedric Mullins.

The Athletics called up outfielder Skye Bolt from Triple-A Las Vegas to take his spot on the active roster. The switch-hitter appeared in five games for Oakland in 2019 and two games for the San Francisco Giants this season before the Athletics purchased him back in May.
