It’s not quite the national television you’d be too excited about, but the NFL announced today three Oakland Raiders preseason games will be carried live on the NFL Network for the 2018 season.

The interest in Jon Gruden‘s return to the Raiders sideline is high enough that today the NFL announced its own network – NFL Network – will carry three of the team’s 2018 preseason games live. With Gruden’s larger than life persona, and a talented roster, the Raiders will get an early highlight under the national microscope.

The Raiders first preseason game on August 10th against the Detroit Lions will be the first live contest on the league’s flagship network. The game kicks off at 7:30 PM PT with live coverage on the network and locally on the Raiders television broadcast partner Fox 5. It will be the world’s first real look at the Raiders team under their new/old head coach.

The Raiders will host the Rams on Monday Night Football in Week 1 of the regular season. Expect it a pretty boring affair with both teams going about an inch deep in the playbook. That game will be on the air starting at 1PM PT.

Oakland’s final preseason game on the NFL Network will be the preseason Week 3 matchup will be newly acquired wide receiver Jordy Nelson‘s first game against his former team – the Green Bay Packers on Friday, August 24 at 7:30 PM PT. That game will be at home inside the Oakland Alameda Coliseum and the Raiders last preseason home game.

Live preseason games on NFL Network are subject to blackouts in the local markets of the participating teams. That means for Las Vegas fans, you’ll be watching on Fox 5.
