Is the NFL coming to Netflix? Possibly.

While the NFL has struck deals with other streaming services, such as Peacock and Amazon Prime Video, they have never agreed to broadcast games via Netflix’s streaming package. But that might be changing in the near future.

According to former NFL quarterback turned football analyst/broadcaster Boomer Esiason, it’s possible Netflix becomes the next streaming giant to partner with the National Football League. Specifically, Esiason sees Netflix becoming the home for Christmas Day games.

“Do not be surprised if the NFL and Netflix get in bed for a nice little Christmas Day football games, I would not be surprised.”

Netflix has shown an inclination to get more involved in not only live sports events such as the upcoming Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight, but also by producing NFL content such as Quarterback.

With the NFL hosting as many as three Christmas Day games each year, it’s not unreasonable to think that Netflix could land one in the near future. Considering they already have millions of subscribers, Netflix may be an ideal partner for the NFL. Yet, that doesn’t mean everyone will be happy.
