The New York Jets otherwise quiet offseason was taken to a whole new level on Friday.
Certainly wanting to create a win-now team with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, the Jets added a two-time Pro Bowler to the mix on Friday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jets acquired star pass rusher Haason Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles. Per the report, Philadelphia receives a 2026 third-round pick that can become a second-rounder with incentives.
This is rather interesting in that the Eagles signed Jets edge rusher Bryce Huff on a big-money contract earlier in the offseason. It’s a rare swap of standout players.

Reddick, 29, has been among the best pass rushers in the NFL over the past few seasons. Since the start of the 2020 campaign, the Temple product has recorded 83 QB hits, 51 tackles for loss and 50.5 sacks.
He’ll now team up with Pro Bowler Jermaine Johnson to create a pretty darn good edge rush tandem for a Jets defense that’s one of the best in the NFL.
