The Brooklyn Nets announced the signing of forward Cam Johnson to a multiyear contract on Thursday.

The Nets didn’t release contract terms, per team policy. Spotrac pegged it as a four-year, $108 million deal.

“Re-signing Cam was our top priority throughout this free agency period, and we are thrilled to have him remain in Brooklyn as a core member of the Nets for years to come,” Nets general manager Sean Marks said. “Since the moment he arrived last season, Cam immediately embraced a leadership role both on and off the court.”

Johnson, 27, went to Brooklyn in February as part of the deal that sent Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns. Johnson saw his minutes (30.8 per game with Nets, 25.2 last season in Phoenix) and scoring (16.6 points per game with the Nets, 13.9 with the Suns) increase in Brooklyn.

He upped his scoring average to 18.5 points per game and shot over 50 percent from the field in the playoffs, albeit in a four-game sweep by the Philadelphia 76ers.

Combined with both teams in 2022-23, Johnson posted career-high averages in nearly every offensive category — including points (15.5), rebounds (4.4), assists (1.9), steals (1.2) and shooting percentage (47.0) in 42 games (41 starts). He also knocked down 40.4 percent of his 3-point tries last season.

Johnson only played in 42 games last season. He missed 37 due to a meniscus tear in his right knee while still with Phoenix.
