MRI confirms that Pro Bowler Lamar Miller suffered torn ACL

The Houston Texans will have to navigate through the 2019 season without their top ball carrier.

As expected, tests on Sunday confirmed that Pro Bowl running back Lamar Miller suffered a torn ACL during Saturday’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Miller went down in the first quarter and was carted off the field. The injury iself seemed serious. Unfortunately, tests confirmed an ACL tear that will cost the veteran all of the 2019 season.

Miller, 28, has put up north of 1,100 total yards in each of his three seasons with the Texans after they signed him away from the Miami Dolphins in 2016. The former Miami (F) star earned his first Pro Bowl appearance last season.

With Miller out of action, the Texans could rely on the recently acquired Duke Johnson to start. They could also show renewed interest in holdout Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon, who has requested a trade.
