An offseason of disappointment continues for Virginia Tech, which announced starting defensive back Mook Reynolds has been dismissed from the team.
Reynolds, who would’ve been a senior, collected 70 tackles with nine takedowns for loss last season.

Virginia Tech also lost Adonis Alexander to the NFL supplemental draft and prized junior college transfer Jeremy Webb to a season-ending Achilles injury.
So, the news is particularly hard on the Hokies. Reynolds played a unique role on the defense, effectively serving as a hybrid linebacker/safety. He often dropped in coverage but had a regular presence near the line of scrimmage.
Reynolds tallied 164 tackles, including 22.5 for loss, during his three-year career.
