Miami Marlins outfielder Starling Marte is expected to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.

Marte, 32, has been on the injured list since April 20 with a fractured left rib. In 15 games with the Marlins this season, the 2016 All-Star has hit .316 with two home runs, eight RBIs and 15 runs scored.

The two-time Gold Glove winner, who made his MLB debut in 2012, spent his first eight seasons with the Pirates after Pittsburgh signed him as an amateur free agent in 2007.

The Pirates traded Marte to the Diamondbacks on Jan. 27, 2020, in a three-player deal before Arizona shipped him to Miami in a four-player swap on Aug. 31, 2020.

In 1,029 career games with the Pirates (2012-19), Diamondbacks (2020) and Marlins, Marte has hit .287 with 116 home runs and 455 RBIs.
