After coming off an 11-6 season that ended with the Miami Dolphins getting frozen out in a 26-7 Wild Card loss against the Chiefs, Mike McDaniel’s roster has seen a lot of changes this offseason. With the 2024 NFL Draft set to kick off on April 25, several more additions are on the way.

But before the Dolphins get that far, there is still one free agent GM Chris Grier is in hot pursuit of.

Odell Beckham Jr. linked to Miami Dolphins in free agency

“The Miami Dolphins are trying pretty hard to sign Odell Beckham. They’ve made him, I’m told, at least one contract offer, possibly two. They’ve been in contact with him and his representatives. They’re not quite there yet. There has not been that financial gulf bridged. I’m told Beckham is willing to wait if he has to just a little bit, he’s done this in the past, certainly wants to go to the right fit. But there is interest mutually in Miami.”

Last year the Baltimore Ravens signed Odell Beckham to a one-year contract worth up to $15 million. While he was coming off an ACL tear, Beckham caught 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns.

Set to turn 32 in November, OBJ won’t be able to fetch up to $15 million again, but he could still sign an incentive-based contract that allows the opportunity to receive a big payday again.

By joining the Dolphins, Beckham wouldn’t be the first or even second option behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but with those two spacing the field, OBJ shouldn’t have any concerns about facing any double-team coverages. With Braxton Berrios, River Cracraft, Anthony Schwartz, and 2022 fourth-round pick Erik Ezukanma vying for targets, there’s room for Beckham in Miami.
