Left-handed reliever Jake Diekman signed a one-year deal with the New Yok Mets on Tuesday with a club option for 2025.

“Jake has a proven track record and has shown the ability to get batters out of from both sides of the plate,” Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns said. “He gives our bullpen another option to provide key outs.”

In a corresponding roster move, the Mets designed right-handed reliever Austin Adams for assignment.

Diekman, 37, has pitched for eight major league teams during his 12-year career.

Diekman split 2023 with the Chicago White Sox and Tampa Bay Rays, posting a 3.34 ERA in 63 games.

He is 25-31 with 15 saves and a 3.82 ERA in 662 career relief appearances, striking out 724 in 570 1/3 innings.

He also has played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Texas Rangers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics and Boston Red Sox.
