Mets, Orioles
Jim Rassol-USA TODAY Sports

The Baltimore Orioles and New York Mets will deliver some exciting baseball to the U.S. Military on March 24 with an exhibition game at the Naval Academy.

It’s a tradition that MLB held for several years, most recently in 2017 when the Washington Nationals and Boston Red Sox faced each other in an exhibition game at the Naval Academy.

The Orioles blocked the Nationals from playing an exhibition game in Annapolis in October 2017. It consequently ended the Naval Academy Baseball Classic for two years, but it’s now coming back.

It’s great to see the tradition brought back after the Orioles took it away. While it’s only a small gesture to show appreciation for the young service members in the Naval Academy. Let’s hope this return of the Naval Academy Baseball Classic and it returns in the years t come.
