Nationals and Red Sox to play exhibition game at U.S. Naval Academy

For the second consecutive season, Major League Baseball will include the United States Military in a game. Last season saw the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves take part in a regular season game at the U.S. military base Fort Bragg in North Carolina. It was a smashing success.

Now, heading into the 2017 season, it looks like the Washington Nationals and Boston Red Sox will play one another at the U.S. Naval Acadamy in Maryland.

It’s a tremendous way to pay tribute to those who fight for this nation to protect our freedoms and security abroad. It will also be paying tribute to future leaders at the most prominent academy the military has to offer.

The Nationals’ involvement in this game shouldn’t be a surprise. Located in the nation’s capital, they are a true representation of how patriotism and America’s pastime can work together to help this nation move forward.
