For those who don’t live near the Houston area, most only hear of “Mattress Mack” about once a year. That time has come. Yet, he always seems to find a new way to surprise us. His latest claim to fame is placing a $4.5 million bet on the Cincinnati Bengals to win Super Bowl LVI.
Specifically, it’s a $4,534,000 wager, all in on the Bengals to win. The bet places the Bengals with (+170) odds to take down the Los Angeles Rams, which would pay out a whopping $7,707,800 should Joe Burrow become successful in delivering the first Super Bowl victory to the Ohio franchise.
The wager is believed to be the largest mobile bet of all time, according to Caesars Sportsbook. As of this posting, the Bengals are currently seen as -4.5 point underdogs.

Do Mattress Mack’s previous bets favor Cincinnati Bengals?
If you’re like many who read the first sentence of this story, wondering who in the world is this person known as “Mattress Mack”, fittingly, he’s a popular furniture salesman in the Houston, Texas area. His real name is Jim McIngvale and he commonly places bets on the Super Bowl for ridiculous amounts that generate headlines.
Last season he placed another ballsy wager. With Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, Mattress Mack bet $3.46 million on the Bucs to win Super Bowl LV. When they won, he pulled in $3.16 million. At that time, it was the largest bet in Super Bowl history.
While it wasn’t a Super Bowl, McIngvale also went all-in on the Houston Astros to win the 2021 World Series with a wager worth $2 million. That bet was not successful. But, if he had won, it would have paid out an astronomical $22 million, another woulda, coulda record that did not get broken.
We’ll see how the Cincinnati Bengals fare in the Super Bowl this time around. It’s safe to say, Mattress Mack is firmly on their side.
