A day after John Schnatter resigned from the University of Louisville board of trustees, the Marlins are also distancing themselves from the Papa John’s founder, who was recently caught using a racial slur during a conference call.

Major League Baseball has already distanced itself from Papa John’s, as well. On Wednesday, MLB announced that it was suspending its “Papa Slams” promotion, which gave fans 40 percent off of Papa John’s orders after every grand slam.

Other MLB clubs have various affiliations with Papa John’s, as well. Certainly, we wouldn’t be surprised to see at least some of them follow Miami’s lead.
