New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees underwent surgery on his throwing hand Wednesday. It’s something we expected after he suffered the injury during Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Facing the longest absence of his career since his San Diego Chargers days, Brees remained upbeat following the surgery. Check out this awesome photo the future Hall of Famer posted to his Instagram account Wednesday evening.

What a great photo right there.

As someone who has not suffered many serious injuries during his 19-year NFL career, Brees doesn’t seem to be too concerned.

The veteran is expected to miss at least six weeks. Though, the Saints noted on Wednesday that he will not go on short-term injured reserve.
