It’s not too often that original autographs from some of the greatest players in baseball history can be found on the same souvenir.
So when SCP Auctions decided to make public a baseball signed by the likes of Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb, one could easily imagine that it would go for a hefty price on the auction block.
According to the company itself, said auction price has now set a new record.
Yes, @SCPAuctions is proud to set the new world record price for any autographed baseball. $623,369. Previous records were Babe Ruth single-signed for $388K followed by Ruth/Gehrig dual-signed for $343K. @MLB @BaseballHall #Cooperstown #WorldRecord https://t.co/I19Iqqwzrs

A total of $623,368.00 for one baseball.
What’s even more amazing are the names that joined Cobb and Ruth on the ball. We’re talking about the likes of Walter Johnson and Honus Wagner, among others.
The ball itself was signed by all 11 original members of the Baseball Hall of Fame, sans an ill Lou Gehrig.
That’s just great stuff right there.
