Los Angeles Lakers coach Frank Vogel entered the NBA’s COVID-19 protocol and will miss Sunday night’s game in Chicago.

Assistant David Fizdale will serve as the acting coach against the Bulls.

Forward Kent Bazemore also entered the health and safety protocols on Sunday, becoming the seventh Lakers player sidelined by the current outbreak. He joined Avery Bradley, Talen Horton-Tucker, Dwight Howard, Malik Monk, Kendrick Nunn and Austin Reaves. Assistant coach Phil Handy also is in the protocol.

Vogel, 48, is in his third season with the Lakers (16-14). He guided Los Angeles to an NBA championship in his first season with the team in 2019-20 and has an overall record of 110-63 with the team.

Bazemore, 32, is averaging 4.3 points and 2.1 rebounds in 21 games (14 starts) this season.
