New York Knicks forward Julius Randle exited Saturday’s game against the Miami Heat late in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury.

Randle was going up for a layup when he collided with Miami forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. down low and landed awkwardly on his right side with 4:27 remaining. He was in noticeable pain as he ran to the locker room with trainers.

Jericho Sims ended up shooting the ensuing free throws, meaning Randle could not return to the game even if he was cleared to play.

Before exiting, Randle recorded 19 points and nine rebounds in 32 minutes of action. New York went on to win 125-109.

Following the game, Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said Randle was being evaluated.

In 46 games (all starts) this season, the 29-year-old Randle sports averages of 24.0 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists while shooting 47.2 percent from the field and 31.1 percent from 3-point range.

New York is back in action on Monday, when it visits the Charlotte Hornets.
