Klay Thompson commits to max deal with Warriors, per report

The Golden State Warriors will have the splash brothers starring in San Francisco’s new Chase Center for the next several seasons.

According to Marc Stein of The New York Times, Klay Thompson has committed to a five-year, $190 million max contract to re-sign with the Warriors.

This is no real surprise. Thompson has noted multiple times that he wants to finish his career in a Warriors uniform. Signing a five-year max extension comes close to guaranteeing this will happen.

The Thompson news comes mere hours after Kevin Durant announced he was leaving Golden State for the Brooklyn Nets.

As it relates to Thompson and the Warriors next season, the All-Star guard is out through at least January after suffering a torn ACL in the NBA Finals.
