Julio Jones lost $100K diamond earring in lake, paid diving team to search for lost treasure

Julio Jones

Note to self: When wearing ridiculously expensive jewelry, take it off before playing in a lake. This is what Julio Jones should have told himself before taking a jet ski for a spin in Lake Lanier Tuesday. Unfortunately for him, he did not, and in the process lost a $100,000 earring.

Thankfully, being that he’s Julio Jones, it wasn’t a big deal to pay a diving team to go look for said lost earring.

Thus far, divers have been unable to find this treasure, which is likely somewhere deep and dark.

“It’s down in crevasses and nooks and crannies,” diver Richard Pickering said after failing to find the earring on Tuesday (h/t 11alive.com). “It’s impossible – absolutely impossible.”

As for Jones, he’s just happy nobody — including himself — was hurt when he took the tumble off his jet ski that caused the earring to leave his body.

“As long as I’m good, it’s materialistic stuff,” he said. “You can always get that kind of stuff back.”

Well, you can always get that kind of stuff back of you’re Julio Jones.
