Joe Haden: ‘Nobody is as hungry’ as 0-10 Browns

Joe Haden is frustrated about his team’s direction but says nobody in the league is hungrier than the 0-10 Cleveland Browns.

Responding to Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin saying his team is “hungry,” Haden made it clear that Pittsburgh has nothing on his team.

He also admitted he’s “frustrated with talent walking out the door,” per Browns beat writer Daryl Ruiter, and hopes the Browns can retain outside linebacker Jamie Collins.

The Browns acquired linebacker Collins in a trade from the New England Patriots just a couple of weeks ago. It was a move that signals perhaps the organization is not devoid of direction, but they still have to make a move to keep him in Cleveland.

Recently the Browns have seen plenty of talent leave. During this past spring in free agency, they saw multiple players depart for greener pastures. This includes Mitchell Schwartz, Alex Mack, Travis Benjamin and Tashaun Gipson.

While they can’t be blamed for wanting to play for a teams that actually could make the playoffs, Haden has indeed has earned the right to be frustrated.

The 2010 first-round draft pick and his team sport a terrible 0-10 record heading into Sunday’s game against the Steelers. And, by the way things are looking, Cleveland could easily finish up the season 0-16.

As has been the usual for decades, multiple quarterbacks under center have done little to help the hapless Browns. In fact, there have been so many quarterbacks starting for the Browns that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger can’t name each one he has faced.

Haden and his haggard team will certainly have their work cut out this week. The dynamic duo of Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell will be a handful to contain. Unfortunately, Brown’s record against Cleveland over the past six games has seen him catch 50-of-69 passes for 739 yards and seven touchdowns.

Haden will be challenged with covering Brown. All the while, Cleveland will be fighting tooth and nail to achieve its first win.
