ESPN’s Jim Trotter uses Colin Kaepernick as bad example to tout Jared Goff

Colin Kaepernick

Speaking on ESPN’s SportsCenter Wednesday morning, NFL reporter Jim Trotter used Colin Kaepernick as the bad example when talking about what Jared Goff is doing right.

Here’s a video clip of Trotter, who says Goff “goes and he sits down with his players, rather than separating himself, like, for instance, Colin Kaepernick had done in San Francisco.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about Kaepernick being described as a loner. During his brutal 2015 campaign he was described as “on an island” in San Francisco’s locker room. And it was all but assumed he’d be leaving the franchise, one way or another, before the 2016 NFL Draft.

Obviously that didn’t occur. He’s still with the 49ers, has had perfect offseason attendance and new head coach Chip Kelly has not had a single bad thing to say about him.

Back to Goff, it is encouraging that he’s saying and doing all the right things for the Rams. Los Angeles needs him to pan out, not only because of his No. 1 overall status but even more so because of how much the franchise gave up to land him.
