Jazz move on in NBA 2K League’s 3v3 Switch Open

Third-seeded Jazz Gaming swept community team Glo Navy Glosquitos 3-0 on Friday as the first round of bracket play in the NBA 2K League’s 3v3 Switch Open concluded.

The final four first-round matches were held on Friday. The double-elimination event runs through April 6.

“Forgivejustin” Barnes paced the Jazz with an average of 10 points per game.

In the other Friday openers, Raptors Uprising GC edged Bucks Gaming 3-2, NBL Oz Gaming defeated community team Dribble Godz 3-1, and 76ers GC slipped past Kings Guard Gaming 3-2.

The first round of lower bracket got also underway on Friday.

Cavs Legion GC downed community team Glitchy 3-1, Celtics Crossover Gaming swamped Wizards District Gaming 3-0, Knicks Gaming got past Blazer5 Gaming 3-1, Warriors Gaming Squad ousted GCL Underdogs 3-1, T-Wolves Gaming trounced Handlez 3-0, and NetsGC beat Isles Gaming Team 3-1.

The Bucks and Kings bounced back from their earlier losses, advancing in the lower bracket. The Bucks topped Glo Navy Glosquitos 3-1, and the Kings bounced Dribble Godz 3-0.

The upper bracket’s second round is set for Saturday, consisting of:

–Pistons GT vs. Heat Check Gaming
–Hornets Venom GT vs. Magic Gaming
–Community team Rim Runners vs. Mavs Gaming
–Hawks Talon GC vs. Gen.G Tigers
–Pacers Gaming vs. Lakers Gaming
–DUX Infinitos vs. Grizz Gaming
–Raptors Uprising GC vs. Jazz Gaming
–76ers GC vs. NBL Oz Gaming

Six lower-bracket games will be contested Saturday, too.

The Switch Open is the second of three 3v3 tournaments in the NBA 2K League season. Lakers Gaming won the Slam Open, and the Steal Open will follow in April. The 3v3 playoffs are set for April 24-27 in Washington, with cumulative results in the three tournaments determining the playoff field and seeding.
