Miami Dolphins star Jaylen Waddle exits game with back injury

  • Update: After missing roughly a quarter of action, Jaylen Waddle returned to the game after being seen jogging on the sideline.

Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle has dealt with a few injuries thus far during the 2023 season, including missing a game with a concussion.

While the Fins’ offense was on a record scoring pace heading into Sunday night’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, they really need the stud pass catcher to step up.

Unfortunately, that could be threatened by yet another injury. Waddle went to the medical tent on the sideline in the second quarter of Sunday’s game with a back injury. He was heard screaming in pain as the medical staff attended to him, per NBC’s Melissa Stark.

Ultimately, Waddle made it back to the locker room. He’s officially listed as questionable to return with a back injury.

Prior to going down, Waddle had caught two passes for 24 yards in the game. When he went down, the Dolphins found themselves down 17-3. Miami scored a touchdown shortly thereafter to make it 17-10.

The 24-year-old Waddle was absolutely dominant as a sophomore last season, recording 75 receptions for 1,356 yards and eight touchdowns. Obviously, injuries have impacted him thus far this season.

The hope here is that this is not a long-term injury for Waddle. He’s a huge part of the Miami Dolphins’ offense to go with Tyreek Hill.

We will provide further updates once they become available.
