Jameis Winston halftime speech sparked Florida State comeback

Former Florida State and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston might have had a hand in the Seminoles’ 45-34 win against Ole Miss on Monday.

On hand on the sideline for the game, Winston joined the club in the locker room at half-time when Florida State was behind 28-13. He turned himself into quite the  drill sergeant and shouted the Seminoles out of their funk.

Winston wasn’t shy and used colorful language peppered with expletives that apparently did the trick.

Winston was particularly hard on FSU’s offensive line, which was having a terrible time in regards to blocking. Per Chase Goodbread of NFL.com, Florida State’s second-half comeback of 33 points with 26 scored in the third quarter was the biggest in the school’s history.

Who knows if the game would have turned out differently if Winston had not unleashed that spit-fire speech?

The next time we see Winston in action will be when the Buccaneers open up the season in Atlanta against their NFC South rival Falcons on Sunday, September 11.
