Which NFL QB ‘absolutely’ would like to play with Adrian Peterson?

Adrian Peterson

Jameis Winston and Adrian Peterson worked out together this offseason, so the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback has a handle on the veteran running back’s health. And having seen what Peterson still has to offer following knee surgery last year, Winston would “absolutely” like to play alongside him if given the chance.

“I don’t know of anyone that wouldn’t,” Winston said, per Jenna Laine of ESPN. “But that’s out of my league. I can only talk about what I learned from him and how he helped me this offseason.”

Winston also raved about Peterson’s work ethic and gushed over the opportunity to “be in the presence of whom many consider to be one of the greatest backs” of this generation.

“You know why he’s been able to play at a high level in this league for so long, which helps me, because I want to be great,” Winston said. “I want to be considered one of the best players in the league. To see that [after] 10 years, this man is still outworking everybody in his own facility, it’s amazing. It’s very eye-opening to me and motivating.”

Another thing that’s eye-opening is the fact that Winston’s comments come on the heels of Doug Martin re-joining the team on Monday. He spent time in rehab this offseason and is slated to be suspended the first four games of the season for violating the NFL’s Substance of Abuse Policy.

The Bucs have also been bringing in running back prospects this offseason, including FSU’s own Dalvin Cook.

Clearly, the team isn’t shy about looking to upgrade the position. Whether that translates to a rookie coming on board, a veteran like Peterson or a combination of the two remains to be seen. Though, it’s been reported recently that Peterson is not in the team’s 2017 plans, which could mean nothing or everything during the NFL’s silly season.
