Memphis Grizzlies guard Marcus Smart exited Tuesday night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks in the third quarter due to a right finger injury.

After hitting a 3-pointer to extend Memphis’ lead to 80-62 with 7:39 left in the third, Smart celebrated by raising his hand in the air and holding up three fingers but noticed that his ring finger was crooked.

Smart then looked toward the Grizzlies bench and appeared to tell medical staff that his finger was dislocated. He went back to the locker room and did not return.

Prior to exiting, Smart had 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting to go along with four rebounds and two steals. Memphis wound up beating Dallas 120-103.

Smart’s injury comes a day after the Grizzlies announced that they would be without star guard Ja Morant for the rest of the season due to a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

In 20 games this season, Smart, 29, has averaged 14.5 points, 4.3 assists and 2.7 rebounds. He is in his first season with Memphis after being acquired from the Boston Celtics via trade this past offseason.

The Grizzlies don’t play again until Friday, when they host the Los Angeles Clippers.
