Gen.G, JD Gaming win High Matches in Swiss Stage at Worlds

Gen.G Esports and JD Gaming won their respective Round 3 High Matches of the Swiss Stage on Saturday at the 2023 League of Legends World Championship.

Hyeon-joon “Doran” Choi of South Korea was named the MVP during Gen.G’s match against G2 Esports. Gen.G dispatched G2 Esports following a pair of 32-minute wins on red.

Also on Saturday, JD Gaming sandwiched 28- and 27-minute wins on blue around LNG Esports’ 28-minute victory on blue.

Sunday’s Round 3 Mid Matches are as follows: T1 vs. Cloud9; NRG vs. MAD Lions, Bilibili Gaming vs. Fnatic, and KT Rolster vs. Weibo Gaming.

The Round 3 Low Matches on Monday will feature Dplus vs. Team BDS and Team Liquid against GAM Esports.

After the Swiss Stage, the $2.225 million world championship advances to the knockout stage. All rounds are being contested in venues in South Korea. The knockout round will culminate with the Nov. 19 grand final at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
