Gallery: NFL Participates in Charity “Ice Bucket Challenge”

If you haven’t heard of the so-called “Ice Bucket Challenge,” it basically goes as follows.

If a friend nominates you to take part; you either donate $100 to a charity which works towards a cure for the degenerative disease, ALS, or you film yourself dumping a huge bucket of ice water on top of your head, for which you nominate a friend. The pattern continues from there.

Here’s a look at some NFL players and staff who have taken part in the “Ice Bucket Challenge,” which has reportedly raised over $1.35 million in just the past couple of weeks.

Golden Tate, wide receiver, Detroit Lions

Steve Tisch, co-owner, New York Giants

Michael Strahan, former New York Giant and Hall of Famer

Roger Goodell, NFL commissioner

Eugene Monzone Jr. NFL AM

Drew Brees, quarterback, New Orleans Saints makes challenge. Somehow a naked challenge is involved.

And accepts challenge…

Jacksonville Jaguars’ rookies challenge other NFL rookies.

I think this is a fabulous way to involve fun and earn money for such a worthwhile charity all in one. For me personally, I’ll just stick to donating the $100.
