Last week the Raiders filed documents with the City of Henderson which gave the public the first view of plans for its $75 million, 323,000 square feet facility and new home come Spring 2020.
The construction of the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders future headquarters and practice facility hasn’t begun but the team is following all the necessary steps to start the project. Many of those details were revealed in filings with the City of Henderson last week.
The documents and subsequent meeting to review them gave the public the first opportunity to see the plans the team has for the 55-acre parcel in west Henderson off of St. Rose Parkway and Executive Airport Drive. It includes details on phase one of the plan which includes the development of roughly 30 acres to include the team’s headquarters and practice facility.

The facility will include one full and one half indoor field, three outdoor fields, a 200-seat auditorium, pool, training and locker room, offices and a multimedia studio. Included will be the team’s office and headquarters to house the entire organization in Southern Nevada.
The facility will also provide 250 full-time jobs in Henderson and the city’s mayor Debra March said the project is an important piece of the development of the fast-growing western edge of the city.
“We’re excited to have the Raiders and their new facility,” March told Sports Adrenaline Las Vegas in an interview this week. “It’s actually a very attractive facility and complimentary to the stadium and to development in the area.”

March said the courting of the team during the period it was scouting locations went well and the deal on the land (valued at twice the price paid), which the Raiders paid $6 million for, was a deal they couldn’t refuse.
“We knew the Raiders were looking at Las Vegas and purchasing property in Southern Nevada, and we felt we had a piece of land that was perfectly suited to them,” March said in the interview which can be heard this Saturday on Sports Adrenaline Las Vegas at 9:15am on CBS Sports Radio 1140-AM.
March added the property, and its access to the nearby Henderson Executive Airport and close proximity to the stadium site at Russell Road and Interstate 15 was also a big selling point for the team.
The training facility includes 1.5 indoor fields and three full outdoor practice fields, a pool, performance center and office space.
The design of the facility takes elements of the stadium design including its glass-laden black exterior. The filing also states the development can include the sale of food and beverage – including beer and wine.
Sources have told Silver and Black Today several retail concepts and fan-facing attractions will be included in the development aimed at making the facility friendly to fans during the season as well as during the offseason.
Groundbreaking on the facility is slated for the end of 2018.
