Eli Manning donates $1 million to Mississippi Medical Center

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning draws his fair share of haters when stepping foot on the field.

Though, one reason to pay some respect and homage to Manning is because of a very generous $1 million donation that he and wife made to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Manning attended Ole Miss from 2000-2003 before being drafted into the NFL. So we can see why his heart tugged at this particular cause.

According to CBS Sports, the donation will be put towards enhancements to the neonatal and pediatric wards. In all, the medical center is attempting to raise $100 million to create expansions in the neonatal intensive care unit and create an new imaging department designed for kids.

According to the report, the targeted $100 million in donation is the largest the UMMC has attempted in its history.

Surely, Manning’s $1 million is a great place to start.
