Los Angeles Dodgers activate and then option Edwin Rios

The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated Edwin Rios from the 60-day injured list and optioned the infielder/designated hitter to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Rios, 28, landed on the 10-day IL on June 3 with a torn right hamstring and was transferred to the 60-day list on June 22.

He has been on a rehab assignment at Oklahoma City since July 28, batting .302 with one homer and eight RBIs in 14 games.

Before the injury, Rios batted .244 with seven homers and 17 RBIs in 27 games with the Dodgers this season. He is a career .219 hitter with 20 homers and 43 RBIs in 112 games with Los Angeles since 2019.
