Seattle Seahawks’ DK Metcalf ejected after going at Fred Warner

Frustration was boiling over for DK Metcalf and the Seattle Seahawks late in Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

With Drew Lock starting over an injured Geno Smith, Seattle found itself down 28-16 late in the fourth quarter. That’s when 49ers All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner picked off Lock.

It led to a melee of epic proportions inside Levi’s Stadium in Northern California. As you can see, Metcalf went after Warner by tackling him MMA style. The star receiver then followed Warner down the field and grabbed him by the helmet before being ejected from the game. Check it out.

Being involved in something like this is not foreign to Metcalf. In fact, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has called him out in the past for penalties.

“We put all penalties on the board in Monday’s meetings, and the guys that have the most are on the top. He was up there with another guy. We all have to acknowledge it and recognize what our issues are, whatever they are, and it happens to be in this case. He’s getting called. He knows. He’s got to clean it up and we have to make sure that we’re aware of how they’re calling stuff.”

Carroll on DK Metcalf

It’s one thing to be aggressive. Metcalf also displayed his frustration in a big way earlier in Sunday’s 28-16 loss to San Francisco.

Even then, it’s a bad look for the star wide receiver. He needs to find a way to control his emotions better. As for Sunday’s game, Metcalf caught just two passes for 52 yards as Seattle lost its fourth consecutive outing. We’re sure he’ll hear from Carroll after the game.
