Derrius Guice has signed on with Top Dawg Entertainment, a music industry staple that represents the likes of Kendrick Lamar, SZA, ScHoolboy Q and Jay Rock. The company announced Friday that it is opening a sports division, and that Guice will be its first NFL client, per ESPN’s Darren Rovell.
“They were the first guys who came to me, just like LSU was the first school to offer me a scholarship,” Guice said, via Rovell. “I didn’t forget that.”
Landing Guice is a nice way to start. The LSU product is likely going to be selected late in the first round or early in the second round of the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft. He’s seen as one of the upper-echelon running back prospects coming into the NFL this year and should have a great chance to make an immediate impact wherever he lands.
As a member of the LSU football program, Guice amassed 3,324 yards and 32 touchdowns from scrimmage the past three years.
