Buckle up, folks, because this story is a ride. Damian Lillard was accused of being a “spoiled and entitled brat” by Dan Orlovsky, and he wasn’t having that.

Damian Lillard said he wouldn’t play if the Blazers couldn’t make playoffs

Recently during an interview with Yahoo Sports, Lillard made it clear he isn’t interested in playing this season if the Portland Trail Blazers can’t make the playoffs.

“If we come back and they’re just like, ‘We’re adding a few games to finish the regular season,’ and they’re throwing us out there for meaningless games and we don’t have a true opportunity to get into the playoffs, I’m going to be with my team because I’m a part of the team. But I’m not going to be participating. I’m telling you that right now. And you can put that [expletive] in there.”

To be clear, Lillard wants to play if the NBA does restart its season. He just doesn’t want to play if there’s no way to get into the postseason.

Whether you agree or disagree with that sentiment, that’s his stance. And he’s perfectly within his rights to have it.

Dan Orlovsky called Lillard a ‘spoiled and entitled brat’

One person who absolutely does not agree with Lillard’s stance is ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky. He was on the show “Get Up!” Thursday morning and absolutely let loose with some over-the-top criticism.

Orlovsky had a heck of a lot to say, but here’s the meat and potatoes of his take:

“How can you sit there and go, ‘Nope, I’m not going to play, but understand that there’s people out there that don’t have that choice. They have to go to work. They have to go earn their money. I struggle with sitting here and going ‘you don’t come off, in some way, a spoiled and entitled brat by saying I’m not going to play.”

As you can imagine, Lillard isn’t happy about all this.

Damian Lillard hits back at Orlovsky

When Lillard got wind of Orlovsky’s comments on Twitter, he wasn’t having any of it. He went on the offensive to set the record straight.

In the end, Orlovsky apologized for using the phrase “entitled and spoiled brat.”

It’s just unfortunate it ever came to this in the first place.
