Chicago Blackhawks fans are opening their wallets in anticipation of seeing the league’s top overall draft pick in 2023, Connor Bedard, play his first game on home ice.

After beginning the season with five straight road games and going 2-3-0, the Blackhawks will take on the Vegas Golden Knights at the United Center on Saturday. The average ticket price of $209 is the highest to see the team in Chicago in five years, according to ticket reseller Vivid Seats.

That price is also far higher than the next-highest of $148 in that five-year span. The United Center holds 19,717 fans for hockey games, and the Blackhawks drew just 17,167 per home date last season, according to sports data outlet Statista.com

Bedard, who just turned 18 years old this summer, has a goal and two assists and has played in all five games this season. With Regina of the Western Hockey League last season, Bedard racked up 71 goals and 143 points.

He and the Blackhawks will be facing the defending Stanley Cup champion Golden Knights, who are unbeaten in five games to start the season.
