Colorado Buffaloes secure massive commitment from star 2024 two-way recruit, beating Georgia and other SEC teams

Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes have cooled off after a surprisingly hot start, dropping from 3-0 to 4-7. Heading into one of their final games of the season, the Buffaloes secured a commitment that could have massive ramifications for the future.

On Thursday as Sanders enjoyed Thanksgiving Day with his family, the Buffaloes had something very special to be thankful for on Thursday. Two-way player Kamron Mikell, the 79th-best recruit in 247 Sports national rankings, became the latest Colorado commitment.

It’s a much-needed boost for the Buffaloes’ recruiting class. Entering Week 13, the Buffaloes had already received a decommitment from 2025 wide receiver Winston Watkins Jr. Losing a five-star recruit prompted a strong reaction from Sanders.

While the Buffaloes’ recruiting efforts haven’t quite met expectations, Sanders has still pulled in a respectable class. In addition to Mikell, Colorado has commitments from four-star athlete Aaron Butler and four-star defensive lineman Brandon Davis-Swain.

It’s also important to note the importance of the transfer portal. A majority of the Buffaloes’ best players this season went to Colorado through the transfer portal because of Sanders. While the Buffaloes might not finish with a top-50 class, they could be very busy this winter working the transfer market.
