Christian Hackenberg Wikipedia page altered after brutal sack

Christian Hackenberg

Christian Hackenberg was absolutely destroyed by Cornelius Washington Saturday night in Week 2 of the preseason, and Internet trolls took immediate action.

After the vicious sack/fumble, we covered Twitter’s take on Hackenberg getting taken down with authority, but social media wasn’t the only outlet that was taken advantage of. The New York Jets quarterback got the Wikipedia treatment, too.

Adding insult to injury (Hackenberg wasn’t really injured, but you get the point), he was awful in this game — his first ever NFL start. Hackenberg completed just 2-of-6 passes for 14 yards, was sacked twice, fumbled the once and went 0-for-4 on passes beyond the line of scrimmage. More than that, the Jets managed just four three-and-outs while Hackenberg was under center.

It was a brutal display that proved the Penn State product is nowhere near ready to be a starter, even on a tanking Jets team that won’t likely win more than a couple games anyway.
