Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes returns to practice

Don’t ever question the reigning MVP’s toughness. Less than a week after suffering a dislocated kneecap in a win over the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes has returned to practice.

While it is on a limited basis, this has to be seen as great news for the signal caller and his team.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid did note that veteran backup Matt Moore will get first-team reps in practice as the team prepares for this week’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

Even then, Reid previously wouldn’t rule Mahomes out for the game. Given that he’s now returned to practice, the chances of Mahomes taking to the field Sunday night have improved.

Kansas City heads into Week 8 at 5-2 on the season and boasting a two-game lead in the AFC West.

There’s no real reason to rush Mahomes back and risk further injury. That’s why we’re still expecting Moore to get the nod this week.
