It’s the biggest accomplishment in the lives of most young adults. Graduating college. Being on stage with your peers as you prepare for the world ahead.

Unfortunately, all of this has changed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Graduations are being held remotely throughout the United States with students still banned from campus.

There’s somewhat good news for seniors at Texas Tech who are slated to get their degrees next weekend. Former Red Raiders quarterback and reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes will give the commencement address in virtual form during the ceremony.

That’s some pretty awesome stuff from Mr. Mahomes right there. Texas Tech could not have asked fore a more famous alum to give the commencement address as the university prepares to send these kids off into the world.

A first-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2017, Mahomes put up 115 total touchdowns and 29 interceptions throughout his three-year career at Texas Tech.
